Event Description

An incurable optimist at heart, Marshall is in it for the species. His mission is to help others become self-informed about future catastrophic threats. He also believes that men and women must face the next global catastrophe as coequals and advocates a service-to-others approach to survival. Marshall’s secular interest in surviving global catastrophe is the result of several milestone experiences in his life.

From 1984 to 1988, Marshall worked as a science and technology features producer for the Cable News Network (CNN) and the Texas Cable Network (TNN).

In 1989, Marshall moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in Information technology as a freelance technical writer.  Two months later, the Loma Prieta earthquake rocked the entire Bay Area during the World Series.
