I was framed in the Oklahoma city bombing , I was involved with Rudy Ridge Idaho is what my guest tonight says
My family is from southern Utah , my mom used to watch the atomic blast light up the sky in Cedar City , then a few hours later , she described the radioactive fallout as being fine pink dust , like baby powder . She was pregnant with my older sister when Operation Nougat ( September 1961 to 30 June 1962 ) was being conducted , with 44 atomic tests , then in July of that same year another round of testing had begun with Operation Storax, Sun Beam , and Roller Coaster ( July 1962 and through 30 June 1963 ) , starting out with a monster named Sedan , a 104 Kt bomb it was part of the plowshare program , detonated at a very shallow depth of 600 ft below the surface , putting more radioactive fallout into the atmosphere than a regular above ground test , it was the most spectacular nuclear test ever fired in the United States , 12 million tons of soil and rock were lifted into the air , forming a massive cloud
My mom remembers that day well , recalling that the fallout was so heavy , she pulled her car off the road to clean the windshield . She was exposed to large doses of radioactivity , her hair fell out shortly after , and my older brothers mouth had blisters inside all the way down his throat , my sister was born on December 14 , 1962 , she had not any vagina or anus , just smooth skin , 29 major surgeries before she was 6 years old . She is a survivor ; however in 1981 she had her thyroid cut out , she has a nice scar on her neck , like many people in Utah . My band has a song named for her type of cancer , Nuclear Leukemia .
